Victoria's Secret is a well-known retailer, selling women's lingerie, womenswear, along with beauty products, perfumes and of course those infamous catalogues featuring photoshoots. It's a multi-billion dollar company that is world-renowned.

But it's not the brand we focus on, it's the models who wear the lingerie that are the show stoppers. The models strut their stuff at the Victoria's Fashion Show. This annual show began in 1995, starting from no broadcasting and evolving from webcasts to television, it has become a tradition ever since.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion has men salivating and sweating, while women envy and admire the models. It's not just lingerie sales the increase, but I'm pretty sure gym memberships and personal trainings are sought out.

So, what are the most memorable and iconic moments that Victoria's Secret has given us?

Adriana Lima - 2012
The first fashion show Adriana Lima did for Victoria's Secret was way
back in 1999, and since being contracted as an Angel in 2000,
has appeared on subsequent shows ever since,
opening shows in 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2010.

Naomi Campbell - 1996

Kylie Bisutti - 2009

Victoria's Secret held a competition to find a model for the

runway, this was the first and only time this occurred.

Karolina Kurkova - 2010

The angel wings made from real peacock feathers had

heads turning.

Lui Wen - 2012

This model made history being the first As model to walk the

runway back in 2009. During the 2012 show, she sported a

Temptu's airbrushed tattoos, which took a total of six hours to put on

the tattoos, and t took 30 minutes to take it off.

Lindsay Ellington - 2013

This angel donned a corset and nylon wings covered in

Swarovski crystals created by a 3D printer

Candice Swanepoel - 2013

The model wore the infamous Royal Fantasy Bra, she made her debut back in 2007.

It is a Mouawad jewel-bedecked bra that took 14 craftspeople 527 hours to complete.

Heidi Klum - 2003
The model walked the runway in some of the biggest wings I've
ever seen, Victoria's Secret really amped it up this time.

Cara Delevingne - 2013
The model sported the dark angel look but then there are those rubber
gloves, looks like she's about to wash the dishes or something.

This was the year the angel wings were introduced and Tyra, one of the

original Victoria's Secret Angels was one of the few to wear these

little beauties, and boy did she rock them.

My all-time favourite model got the pleasure of wearing the Fantasy
Treasure Bra and made the 2.5 million dollar bra look worthless aka
Miranda Kerr is priceless and "bae" af [shudders at the use
of this modern "word"]

It was not my favourite performance ever but it was not only memorable an
hilarious but very relatable, we mere mortals are no force for theVictoria Secret's

This year I attended the 155th Melbourne Cup. I had never been to the event only ever heard from other people what to expect and watched the event on television so this was my first time to attend such a prestigious event that stops the nation. Although the event is about the horses and the racing, along with the betting, I definitely focus a lot of my attention on the glitz and glamour. The fashion has evolved through the years, with different looks, from the bold and dramatic to the simple but show stopping, it's all there.

THE DO'S, DON'TS AND SIDE NOTES

What I discovered thanks to the spring races is to definitely bring spare flat shoes or wear a more comfortable heel. I most definitely regretted my decision to wear heels that were not only quite high but wear uncomfortable after a few hours. My advice is that you wear shoes that you've broken into instead of wearing brand new puppies, the only reason I went with a brand new shoe is because it was the only shoe that suited the dress I wore.

I recommend wearing a dress or outfit of some kind that is comfortable but fashionable at the same time. You'll be standing around for hours and walking around a bit to at least stretch your legs or grab some food and drinks if you haven't bought your own. Although my dress was unbelievably beautiful, it was difficult to walk in at times. Due to the shape of the dress and the geometric cut, it was restricting at times to take bigger strides or walking down stairs, or even just to sit down. The dress was also not made for my height, so even with alterations it wasn't the easiest dress to deal with. However, I don't have any regrets with the dress I purchased because it was a definitely a winner in my eyes. So the tip here is to make sure your dress fits well, you want the shape, length, details, colour(s) and/or pattern to suit your body and height. In order to make sure it's the perfect dress, you want to try it on and wear it around a little just to get a feel of it.

I've noticed that even though a dress is the go to outfit for the day, you can definitely shake things up with a jumpsuit or a two piece set, just wear something you feel comfortable in. With regards to shoes, wearing heels isn't the shoe that you have to wear, you can wear flats or even wedges and still rock your outfit.

When it comes to hair accessories, hats and fascinators or just accessories in general, I usually go with simple is better, but some people like to go all out, it's each to their own. I personally like to match my accessories to the outfit I wear, so if you're wearing a certain colour then the accessories should be the same colour, but you don't want to look too bland so wear an accessory that will stand out, for example a colourful clutch, a bold bag, metallic jewellery or even a watch, so there's some sparkle, this will make the outfit pop.

With regards to makeup, you want a look that will last throughout the day so it's simple but effective, however once again there are others who might want a more bold look for their outfit. If you've gone for a simple outfit and accessories, I suggest a bright, bold beauty look, for example, a smokey eye or colourful lip, it'll help make your face shine and create a whole dynamic to the outfit you've chosen. However, you can go for a neutral look even if you've gone simple with the outfit. If you've decided to go for a daring outfit, a beauty look that's modest in nature would be perfect, so you can apply neutral eyeshadow tones and nude or pink lips.

WHAT I WORE TO THE SPRING RACES

I wore the 'Hold Tight' by Cooper St, this is available in both black and white but I went with the white one. I paired this geometric dress with a strappy stiletto heel in white and a two-toned silver and white Gregory Ladner headband fascinator that had a sideman leaf with a bow and loops. For the accessories I wore a Tiffany & Co bracelet and a rose gold watch, along with a mini bag in teal, just to add some colour to the outfit. For my makeup I used Urban Decay's Naked 1 and Naked 3 palettes for my eyeshadow and Rimmel London's Nude Collection by Kate Moss lipstick in #45 A Rose Nude.

On the weekend I went to the Royal Melbourne Show, I think I've been probably once in my life but I'm assuming I was quite young because I remember nothing about that day! So if you're wondering what in the heck is a 'Royal Melbourne Show', it basically features amusement rides, attractions for your entertainment, arts and crafts, and food and wine needs, from animals to cultural diversity, it's all there. You could say it's an amusement park morphed with every single exhibition you could ever think of.

A decision to take public transport was made, and I think it was definitely the best choice. Although there was parking and the car is a lot more accessible, along with being in your private space, the traffic was absolutely insane so it would not have been worth it at all. Although trains were packed, the trip was quick and easy. So if you're ever going to a huge event like the Melbourne Show, I totally recommend public transport.

Upon arrival, the line for the tickets was large, but not too large, it took about 15 minutes to get our tickets, so the allocation of tickets was efficient. However there is always the option to purchase tickets and bundles online if you don't want to bother with being in a queue.

When you first walk into the show it's sort of crazy, you're bombarded with people walking past you, music blasting from the speakers and all the amusement rides with their booming noises, little food outlets, and different precincts with various things to meet your hearts content.

There are so many amusement rides in the place, it is honestly so overwhelming, you just want to try every single one! From screams of fear to laughter to the wooing in excitement, the reactions of people on the rides either sway you towards said ride or make you want to run in the other direction as fast as you can. Before deciding the rides to go on, observations were made and a lot of walking was done. I didn't realise how big the Melbourne Showgrounds was until walking around the place numerous times, I lost count after the third round.

The first ride I went on was the Taipan Rollercoaster, I hadn't been on a rollercoaster or even an amusement ride in years so I wanted to start with something that wasn't too crazy but was accelerating at the same time. It definitely got the blood pumping, heart beating a little fast and the adrenaline spiking through your veins.

Following the first ride I went walk about, checking out every thing possible, from the animal farm yards to dog shows, from the pop-up restaurants to the mini bars, from arts, crafts and cookery to fashion, style and home, from showbags to even a woodchop pavilion, the precincts and pavilions were endless and were so different to one another.

Afterwards, I walked past every single precinct and pavilion, I came across the 'Masterchef Australia' set. I was surprisingly starstruck by it even though it was just a building, I was also a little bit hesitant because I had no idea the show was actually filmed on the Showgrounds but thanks to a quick Google search and seeing the herb garden I knew it was the actual location. Walking onto the set location was actually pretty awesome, it was obviously not filled with contestants cooking on their kitchen tops and the pantry wasn't there but everything else was there, the 'M' sign and the elegant balcony were there. There were fridges full of alcohol, little pop up stores selling various foods and providing samples, the entire place was filled with the aroma of foods and the bustling of people.

Once I was satisfied I had seen everything and been in every precinct and pavilion, at least having a little glimpse or taking the time to have a good look at everything, it was time for another amusement ride, it was time for a thrill-seeking experience. The ride that drew my attention was the 'Sky Flyer', it looked like a simple ride, but once you get on it's pretty much a riveting experience. You're basically sitting on a chair that soars through the air as it changes heights, going higher and higher, spinning round and round, this was my favourite ride of the day for sure. It felt like you were flying through the air and even though, from the ground, it didn't look that high, it was surprisingly high, you could see all of Melbourne.

The last amusement ride on the agenda after a little sit down and walk around was 'The Hangover', this was definitely the ride that made me most nervous, I was totally freaking out about this ride, I didn't want to go on once purchasing the ticket for it, but obviously I had to. Once on the ride and it started moving back and forth repeatedly, going higher and higher, I was regretting my choice of going on this ride, I was holding onto the shoulder pads for dear life. I screamed so much and felt so uneasy on the ride, especially when it flipped a 360 and would pause when it had spun to the top, it was honestly made me so nauseous, I thought I would end up vomiting during the ride or pass out, it was the such a freaky experience. After a couple minutes of the ride, I started to just concentrate and control myself from screaming, at the end of the ride I was just thankful to get off.

After the nauseating experience of an amusement ride, more walking around was done and it was finally time to eat. There was an abundance of food in the pavilion where every single cuisine you could think of was present and waiting to be tried. It was impossible to choose what you want to eat, it's even more impossible when you have no idea what you want in the first place!

One of the most wanted items at this event is a showbag, in these bags they include various items like food, magazines, toys, beauty products or really anything you can think of. It's really an overwhelming sensation when you walk into the Showbag Pavilion especially when you've been in a line for 20 minutes just walking up and down three times to get into one place where there is lack of oxygen and lack of personal space, it's questionable as to whether it's worth the wait or not. However, in the end you want to experience every single thing when you attend an event such as the Melbourne Show... Plus the Darrell Lea Showboat was indeed worth it!

If you're looking for something a little different, want to plan an activity that's worth while, or simply want to discover something new about Melbourne as either a tourist or even a local, well I just found the perfect thing for you and that's the Melbourne Star.

So if you're not a fellow Melbournian or you're simply out of the loop, you're probably thinking what the hell is a Melbourne Star? Well, it's sort of like a ferris wheel with a Eureka Skydeck: The Edge experience twist.

In all honesty, I didn't know what to expect from this experience, I thought it could either be really fantastic or just a plain let down. There had been a lot of controversy surrounding this attraction but to my surprise it was one of the most rewarding experiences that Melbourne had to offer.

The Melbourne Star is situated in Docklands within Harbourtown, so you can wine and dine or shop til you drop and then go onto the observation wheel for a little bit of a relaxing yet awe-inspiring experience or vice versa. Additionally, it's close to public transport and there's parking available, so it's convenient.

Upon approaching the Melbourne Star, you'll see pods continuously moving around and around. Once you have your ticket scanned you walk through a sort of gallery atmosphere and get your photo taken. There are rooms with novelty rides, those ones where you beg your parents for a few dollars just so you can use it, you know the type right? Like little cars you sit around and pretend you're driving in, that sort of thing. There's also a cute gift store you can visit once your journey on the Melbourne Star is over.

When you've gone through the maze of the Melbourne Star's gallery setting, you're at the boarding deck and you're instructed on what to do and how to do it and then boom you're walking into the pods. What I found interesting was the fact that the pods don't actually stop for you when you're boarding, you simply hop on while the attraction continues spinning. Another interesting aspect of the attraction is that you don't even notice that the cabins are moving because they're moving ever so slowly. So you're literally standing or sitting in the cabin observing the City of Melbourne not even realising just how high you are, it's incredible.

During the 30 minute ride in a spacious cabin, you're observing Melbourne from every angle through the clear glass while audio commentary is provided, giving you an insight into the significant suburbs and simple little facts about the sights you're seeing. You simply cannot go past getting those photography skills out and taking as many photos, or selfies, as you possibly can whilst on this journey. The only downside is that you don't realise how fast time goes while you're spinning around, and when it's over you just want to go back into the pod and keep spinning around, hoping that it never ends.

With a 360-degree view of the city, you can't help but take in the atmosphere and feel completely awed by it, it's a completely breathtaking and interactive perspective of the city. And once you reach the very top, you feel like you're the King or Queen of the world, it's really an accomplishment in itself.

I highly recommend this experience to anyone and everyone, it is worth every dollar you spend. The best part is that any time is the perfect time to go on the Melbourne Star, day time, night time, you'll get a magnificent view no matter what.This is definitely something to add to that bucket list of Melbourne experiences that you just have to try. It's a perfect for a family outing, date night or just a basic group thing. I guarantee you'll want to keep going back once you've tried it!
