First ever blog post!

by - Tuesday, September 02, 2014

Hey guys, this is officially my first blog post that actually has like I guess topics that might incite you and hopefully it’s an easy read, so bear with me.

First things first, I need to tell you that I am absolutely in love, like borderline obsessed with this Nirvana shirt I brought a while back. I’ve taken loads of selfies with it and I’ve worn it one time! If you’re a hardcore Nirvana fan too and you’re wondering where I got this little gem, I got it for $5 at Cotton On, absolute bargain and it’ll get plenty of wear, thank you once again Cotton On for saving my cheap ass with your cheap clothing.

I’d also just like to talk about this nail polish I use. The brand is Urban Colours and I’ve got three colours, a shade of pink, a red and a shade of a purple/pink. It’s a one-coat nail polish so it’s insanely convenient for me. Unfortunately, I have no idea how much these cost or where to get them as they were a gift, but if you spot them while you shop, I advise you to give the brand a go.

Onto something a little different. A lot of my friends and people in general, compliment my skin, and I can safely say I’m an advocator for having a regime for nearly everything with regards to physical appearance, and that I take pride in my appearance, it’s not being vain, it’s caring for yourself and your body. There’s not really a secret for having good skin, it’s about how you treat your skin and what you consume.
One of my many tips to clear skin is drinking lots and lots, and did I mention lots, of water. I know it’s a simple tip but believe me, it works. Our skin is exposed to a bunch of toxins and whatnot everyday, and the weather can have an impact on our skin as well. The goal is to stay hydrated so that your skin doesn’t dry out and the moisture in your skin is natural so you don’t have to continuously apply moisturiser. Water also helps flush out toxins from your body internally, so get some more water into you. Drink about 2 litres a day, sounds like a lot but it’s only 8 glasses or around 3 bottles of water.
What I do every morning, is I start the day with a chilled glass of water, it doesn’t have to be chilled but I prefer it that way because it gives me a bit of a kick start before I have breakfast and of course the all important cup of coffee.
If you absolutely can’t stand drinking water, try drinking it with a little orange, lemon or lime juice or slice, or freeze ice cubes but put berries or grapes in them, or freeze the fruit on their own, and pop them in your glass of water. Even mix it up and have fun with the ice cubes by making them different colours with food colouring. And if you like your bottled water, I recommend you try PUMP, they have different flavours of water that’ll give you the positives of drinking plain and simple water.

The reason I promoted water in this post is because I was recently sick and I had to drink loads of water to avoid dehydration and I literally drank 3 or 4 litres a day, every day for 5 days and my skin has never looked better! So if that’s not proof enough that water does wonders for your skin then I have no idea how else to prove it to you.

Now what's a post written by me on a Tuesday without a good old rave about one of my favourite TV shows? Yes, I'm talking about TEEN WOLF! One thing you NEED to know about me, is my obsession with this show, I mean seriously, I thought this show would just be about werewolves and I was like "there is no way I'll get attached to a TV show", but here we are, 3 years after the first episode aired, it's basically a lifestyle now. I have to say, if you haven't already hopped on this bandwagon and watched this show, you must! I'll admit, the acting in the first season was not up to scratch, but once you put your time into watching this show, you'll fall in love with the characters and the plot is addictive. The cast is one of the best casts I've ever seen on a TV show and I just highly recommend this show to every single person, it's got something for everyone, and I mean shows involving the supernatural are so... boring, even repetitive, but Teen Wolf, is just something else. Every episode I watch has me on the edge of my seat and gets me thinking. So basically, the moral of the story here is, watch Teen Wolf aka one of the best shows ever.
