Marching on
I've not posted in a while guys, it's been a busy time for me being back at university, studying and keeping up with multiple TV shows, even having the occasional marathon. Once again, the month of March has zoomed by like every other month. The work load of university is already piling up and a lot of study has been done, but I've also had time for relaxation and the like.
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER USING AN ARROW IN A FLASH AND THEN BREAK OUT OF PRISON?
As you well know I'm an avid fan of Arrow, The Flash and How To Get Away With Murder, I keep up to date with each of the shows. In response to HTGAWM which has just finished its first season and can I just say, excuse me at that ending...
I've also marathoned Prison Break, it's a relatively old show but damn it's a top notch show, I finished the entire series in five days and I just cannot believe it's over, I don't know how to go on with my life, I need it back, please let the rumour that there is a fifth season being made true. If you've never watched Prison Break or were like me and started to watch it and then suddenly stopped, maybe it's best you don't ever watch it so that you keep your sanity in tact. However, also, I advise you watch this show because it is the best thing you will ever watch and beats every other show I watch and have ever watched.
MAKEUP HAUL AND ALL THAT JAZZ
This month, like basically every other month I usually treat myself, from makeup to clothes to shoes, I'm a spender and I can't help myself, I'm sure some of you have this problem. So... Priceline, oh Priceline, had a sale, and of course I could not resist. I went to two different ones, the first I found nothing, zilch, nada, nothing at all, the place was filled with people but there were just items I didn't want or need or no items whatsoever. Of course, I am persistent and needed a few things so I made my way to another one, and the other store, it was literally a zoo. There was a massive line of people waiting to be pay for items and leave, as the line extended and I walked past a swarm of people with items in their hand and their phones and purses in the other, I made my way through the crowd and found the items I needed within 10 minutes. It was pretty hard to get my hands on items as some people would just stand there and stare at the items rather than grabbing what they wanted. Finally, I was out of there, breathing some oxygen instead some second hand stuff and suffocating amongst hungry women. The goodies I brought were the Revlon ColorStay Brow Maker Eyebrow Powder, Revlon ColorStay Eyebrow Pencil, Australis 4-in-1 Conceal Correct and a Manicare Precision Blending Sponge.
Now let's talk about the cosmetic products individually and what I thought of them when I tried them.
REVLON COLOURSTAY BROWMAKER EYEBROW POWDER
I have to say that I'm a little disappointed with the product, I think it's just because it's not what I initially expected. It's really just a three powder palette for your eyebrows, I'm used to eyebrow kits that have a wax and powder combination, like the Natio Eyebrow Kit which is one of my favourite products that isn't too expensive but is great in quality. I like the idea of the lighter shade powder being a highlighter and I always try to emphasis my eyebrows so this is my favourite part of the product. I can't quite explain why it's not my cup of tea, I mean it's not that bad but it's just not my go to product for my brows I guess. I think it's great that the palette consists of three shades, so it's suitable for everyone, and I like that Revlon have thought of everyone, but I also think it's a negative as not everyone will use all three shades. There are instructions on how to apply it and it generally consists of using all three of the shades, but obviously everyone has their own way in applying eyebrow makeup, I for one like a simple one shade of eyebrow powder and that's it. I personally, don't believe it was worth the price I paid, but I'm comparing this product to those that involve wax and powder palettes, such as Natio and Benefit Eyebrow Kits. Another negative is the fact that you technically needed more than this powdered product to complete the look, if you're after a sculpting look, you'd definitely need to use an eyebrow pencil, I think it this is due to the fact that the brush that comes with product isn't exactly one I'm used to, it's a thick angled brush rather than a thin one and I prefer a thin brush for better application it allows a sculpting look as well.
REVLON COLORSTAY EYEBROW PENCIL
I've always been a fan of eyebrow pencils, purely because they are easy to apply, it just involves one step and boom you're done. Once again, Revlon have thought of everyone and are quite diverse in the range of eyebrow pencil colours available. The application is simple, a few flicks under the brow to emphasise the shape of your eyebrows and then lightly filling in the brows where necessary and if necessary. As mentioned previously with regards to the ColorStay Brow Maker Eyebrow Powder, you'd probably use this in conjunction with the eyebrow pencil, however, it is entirely up to you, personally, I use both the powder and pencil together to get the sculpted and full look I want.
AUSTRALIS 4-IN-1 CONCEAL CORRECT
Okay this, this is my favourite product ever. I've been looking for a multi-tasking concealer-corrector palette, with skin-perfecting shades that is decently priced but erases, corrects and conceals various blemishes. The purple shade erases dark circles, the green shade erases redness and the skin-coloured tones not only provide full coverage when concealing but looks natural at the same time. I am in love with this little compact, it even has a little mirror in it! One point I'll make is that I use 4 separate brushes for the compact, because I made the mistake of using one brush and the colours ended up blending together in the compact, which was so annoying.
MANICARE PRECISION BLENDING SPONGE
My pure curiosity beat me and I wanted to know what the fuss was about with this sponge things. This is my first time trying a blending sponge, I wanted to start off with something decently priced just to test it out and see if I actually like it. Safe to say, using a sponge to apply liquid foundation and blend concealer and such together is fantastic. Although most people think a sponge is just for liquid or cream based products by blending the products outwards around the face, towards the hairline and below the jawline, it needs to be noted that the Manicure Precision Blending Sponge can be used for powder based products by lightly dusting the powder with the sponge.
