CHANEL TIFFANY

#7 New kicks, rings and nails

#7 New kicks, rings and nails by chanel-tiffany

I have been on the look out for some new heels that are both fashionable and comfortable and I finally found me some real sweet ones thanks to Rubi Shoes. These block heels that have a lace up design are super comfortable, obviously you have to break into them like any other shoe until you get into the groove but with block heels it's really easy. The reason I love block heels is because they give you added height but aren't too much of a killer on your feet *cough* I'm look at you stilettos *cough*. These little finds are available in other colours and are inexpensive.

So I have finally figured out why I never ever walk into Pandora, that reason being that the store makes me want to buy every single thing I see. Luckily and finally, I received a ring for Christmas, from my boyfriend, it's called the 'tiara ring' and I never go a day without wearing it. You think I'm joking but I just have to wear it everyday, I kind of feel lost without it, it's sort of like a watch, I need to wear that every single day too or I end up looking at a bare arm searching for the time. After receiving my beautiful ring I just needed my birthstone ring... So I got it. I also wear that everyday.

Next matter of business, I've tested out Rimmel London's Super Gel two step system. Now the set comes with a coloured nail polish along with a top coat so it's like any basic nail polish routine. It's super quick, easy and your nail polish lasts up to 14 days which is always handy when you're like me and you're too lazy to paint your nails!

On that note, I've discovered I have a real appreciation for ribbed clothing, like dresses and tops and I think it's becoming a serious issue here people.

Victoria's Secret is a well-known retailer, selling women's lingerie, womenswear, along with beauty products, perfumes and of course those infamous catalogues featuring photoshoots. It's a multi-billion dollar company that is world-renowned.

But it's not the brand we focus on, it's the models who wear the lingerie that are the show stoppers. The models strut their stuff at the Victoria's Fashion Show. This annual show began in 1995, starting from no broadcasting and evolving from webcasts to television, it has become a tradition ever since.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion has men salivating and sweating, while women envy and admire the models. It's not just lingerie sales the increase, but I'm pretty sure gym memberships and personal trainings are sought out.

So, what are the most memorable and iconic moments that Victoria's Secret has given us?

Adriana Lima - 2012
The first fashion show Adriana Lima did for Victoria's Secret was way
back in 1999, and since being contracted as an Angel in 2000,
has appeared on subsequent shows ever since,
opening shows in 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2010.
Naomi Campbell - 1996
Debut on the VS Runway
Kylie Bisutti - 2009
Victoria's Secret held a competition to find a model for the
runway, this was the first and only time this occurred.
Karolina Kurkova - 2010
The angel wings made from real peacock feathers had
heads turning.
Lui Wen - 2012
This model made history being the first As model to walk the
runway back in 2009. During the 2012 show, she sported a
Temptu's airbrushed tattoos, which took a total of six hours to put on
the tattoos, and t took 30 minutes to take it off.
Lindsay Ellington - 2013
This angel donned a corset and nylon wings covered in
Swarovski crystals created by a 3D printer
Candice Swanepoel - 2013
The model wore the infamous Royal Fantasy Bra, she made her debut back in 2007.
It is a Mouawad jewel-bedecked bra that took 14 craftspeople 527 hours to complete.
This is one of my personal favourites.
Heidi Klum - 2003
The model walked the runway in some of the biggest wings I've
ever seen, Victoria's Secret really amped it up this time.
Cara Delevingne - 2013
The model sported the dark angel look but then there are those rubber
gloves, looks like she's about to wash the dishes or something.
Tyra Banks - 1998
This was the year the angel wings were introduced and Tyra, one of the
original Victoria's Secret Angels was one of the few to wear these
little beauties, and boy did she rock them.

Miranda Kerr - 2011
My all-time favourite model got the pleasure of wearing the Fantasy
Treasure Bra and made the 2.5 million dollar bra look worthless aka

Miranda Kerr is priceless and "bae" af [shudders at the use
of this modern "word"]

THE PERFORMANCES THAT ROCKED MY WORLD

Ariana Grande - 2014
While performing a medley, Ariana Grande was whacked by Elsa Hosk.
It was not my favourite performance ever but it was not only memorable an

hilarious but very relatable, we mere mortals are no force for theVictoria Secret's
models. It also inspiredmany memes, and how doesn't love memes.

This year I attended the 155th Melbourne Cup. I had never been to the event only ever heard from other people what to expect and watched the event on television so this was my first time to attend such a prestigious event that stops the nation. Although the event is about the horses and the racing, along with the betting, I definitely focus a lot of my attention on the glitz and glamour. The fashion has evolved through the years, with different looks, from the bold and dramatic to the simple but show stopping, it's all there.

THE DO'S, DON'TS AND SIDE NOTES

What I discovered thanks to the spring races is to definitely bring spare flat shoes or wear a more comfortable heel. I most definitely regretted my decision to wear heels that were not only quite high but wear uncomfortable after a few hours. My advice is that you wear shoes that you've broken into instead of wearing brand new puppies, the only reason I went with a brand new shoe is because it was the only shoe that suited the dress I wore.

I recommend wearing a dress or outfit of some kind that is comfortable but fashionable at the same time. You'll be standing around for hours and walking around a bit to at least stretch your legs or grab some food and drinks if you haven't bought your own. Although my dress was unbelievably beautiful, it was difficult to walk in at times. Due to the shape of the dress and the geometric cut, it was restricting at times to take bigger strides or walking down stairs, or even just to sit down. The dress was also not made for my height, so even with alterations it wasn't the easiest dress to deal with. However, I don't have any regrets with the dress I purchased because it was a definitely a winner in my eyes. So the tip here is to make sure your dress fits well, you want the shape, length, details, colour(s) and/or pattern to suit your body and height. In order to make sure it's the perfect dress, you want to try it on and wear it around a little just to get a feel of it.

I've noticed that even though a dress is the go to outfit for the day, you can definitely shake things up with a jumpsuit or a two piece set, just wear something you feel comfortable in. With regards to shoes, wearing heels isn't the shoe that you have to wear, you can wear flats or even wedges and still rock your outfit.

When it comes to hair accessories, hats and fascinators or just accessories in general, I usually go with simple is better, but some people like to go all out, it's each to their own. I personally like to match my accessories to the outfit I wear, so if you're wearing a certain colour then the accessories should be the same colour, but you don't want to look too bland so wear an accessory that will stand out, for example a colourful clutch, a bold bag, metallic jewellery or even a watch, so there's some sparkle, this will make the outfit pop.

With regards to makeup, you want a look that will last throughout the day so it's simple but effective, however once again there are others who might want a more bold look for their outfit. If you've gone for a simple outfit and accessories, I suggest a bright, bold beauty look, for example, a smokey eye or colourful lip, it'll help make your face shine and create a whole dynamic to the outfit you've chosen. However, you can go for a neutral look even if you've gone simple with the outfit. If you've decided to go for a daring outfit, a beauty look that's modest in nature would be perfect, so you can apply neutral eyeshadow tones and nude or pink lips.

WHAT I WORE TO THE SPRING RACES

I wore the 'Hold Tight' by Cooper St, this is available in both black and white but I went with the white one. I paired this geometric dress with a strappy stiletto heel in white and a two-toned silver and white Gregory Ladner headband fascinator that had a sideman leaf with a bow and loops. For the accessories I wore a Tiffany & Co bracelet and a rose gold watch, along with a mini bag in teal, just to add some colour to the outfit. For my makeup I used Urban Decay's Naked 1 and Naked 3 palettes for my eyeshadow and Rimmel London's Nude Collection by Kate Moss lipstick in #45 A Rose Nude.

#4 Lace it up

#4 Lace up by chanel-tiffany

One of my favourite trends right now is lace up clothing like tops, bodysuits, dresses, you name it, they've made the rounds amongst celebrities and have become a huge hit. I personally have a new found love for this trend because it allows you to show off a little skin, without showing off too much at the same time.

I've just recently got my hands on a lace up bodysuit, which I've had my eyes on for a while now. I got the 'Cusco Lace Up' bodysuit from Popcherry, which is a little Australian online boutique.

My style icon for this item of clothing is Kim Kardashian. So I made like Kim K and wore all black for my first lace up look by pairing the bodysuit with flare pants and heels, and glammed myself up with a nude lipstick and the haute cocoa with the Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette. This bodysuit is definitely a keeper, it goes with everything and anything, dress it up or down, it's for every any any occasion!

#3 White jeans, new kicks

#3 White jeans, new kicks by chanel-tiffany

Do you ever see a fashion trend and think there's no way that'll look good on me or worry about whether it'll suit your body type, or even worry about the cost behind a perfect look that you just have to have? Well never fear, because I have each and every one of these issues, and I'll give a guide to one of my favourite trends that's hot right now, being white trousers.

White trousers, particularly jeans, have become quite popular lately, with Miranda Kerr, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Olivia Palermo, just to name a few, wearing these, it's hard to go past it and not get onto the bandwagon. I'll be honest here, I owned white jeans a few years ago and just never wore them, so basically they just sit in my wardrobe, and still do really. But then, finally I recently purchased a skinny, white jean with a high waist and I've not regretted it at all. This has become one of my favourite clothing items as of now.

If you think nothing will suit white jeans, you'd be wrong. The beauty of jeans is that you can pair them with anything. Every jean you can think of, from blue to black, skinny to flares, high waist to low waist, crop to full length, add a top, heel or even a flat shoe and you've got an outfit.

CELEBRITY INSPIRATION

Miranda Kerr
Kendall Jenner
Gigi Hadid
Vanessa Hudgens
Candice Swanepoel
Kim Kardashian
I think my favourite way to wear a white jean is with a crop top and a nice heel, however, I'm sure I'll end up discovering new ways to wear white jeans when I begin to wear them a lot more often. The best thing about fashion is that you can find your inspiration from others, and base an outfit off your own taste. Dress up your outfit or dress it down. Don't overthink an outfit, just throw something together, and voila you're done.

Denim x Camel x Cream

February is that month where you blink and sneeze and suddenly March is there. I don't know how I caught my breath in February it just went extremely quickly. What I hate about month's that go fast is the fact that I regret my actions, whereby I think I could've done more, I can do more, I hate not being productive, and in the end it just simply feels like a waste of a month. I achieved many things that were on my 'to-do list', both mentally remembered and physically written down, but many were overlooked.

At the moment, I still don't have a repetitive routine at the moment, it's merely because I'm on holidays, the schedule is ever-changing rather than fixed, this is the reason why I can't wait to start university again. I'm in my second year of university (still sounds weird to me, life is moving fast, I'm getting older, it's just... weird) and boy have I been itching to get back. I love the atmosphere, and I miss it, I miss learning and seeing people, friends, new faces and those who educate me. Although a routine is not in order, I have made a timetable, written many important dates in my diary and am organising my life, albeit slowly, but it is getting done.

One thing that I did do in the month of February was cut my hair. It was time to cut my long, mostly dead hair and go for a new look. Although sometimes I regret cutting it, I think opting for the healthier option that may be short, is more important than trying to fix already dead hair. It's just those little changes that'll make your day, week, month and even year better than ever.

FEBUARY HAUL

As some of you know, I'm borderline, or even completely obsessed with Kikki K and their stationary, particularly the Live Bright range. I previously purchased a leather diary, leather pencil case, a set of pens and the infamous tomato pen, but couldn't stop there. I decided to buy a leather notebook, leather wallet/clutch, a hardcover notebook and of course, more pens, these are ballpoint rather than ink gel so there is a difference. The Live Bright range is limited edition, Kikki K ranges change every season so I was lucky to have purchased most of the range, as most stores were selling out. The moral to the story is that, these purchases are well worth it, and will really motivate me to study and actually write everything down rather than be attached to a form of technology, I'm taking a step back in time and actually writing... crazy innit?

Another step in getting my life together was actually purchasing a brand new bag. I have a lot of bags, but they're quite petite in size, I needed a bag that was big enough to fit a laptop, textbooks, binder, a notebook and other bits and bobs... And I found that bag. Let me tell you, it is quite huge, like I now know how Hermione feels with that beaded bag that has an undetectable extension charm.

The infamous bag that'll fit everything
Although most of my purchases are necessary, some are purely for pleasure, they are more wants than needs, however a majority of the time I trick myself into believing they are needs, but who hasn't done this? Shoes and clothes are definitely my weakness, I need it all, I tell myself every time I make a purchase. In the end, the guilt of the purchase is outweighed by the amount of times I wear the item(s), so it's justifiable.

Valentine's Day goodies

VALENTINE'S DAY

I completely forgot to post a Valentine's Day post, that's how fast this month went. I also hesitated in writing the post alone as I thought well, readers may not be interested. I instagrammed photos and thought it was enough but hey why not give you the dirty details.

Valentine's Day, this a day made for couples to celebrate their love and blah blah blah, right? Wrong, it's more of a normal day, a social culture or structure made for human beings such as ourselves to spend incredible amounts of money on flowers, chocolates and restaurant food. Is it just me or does everything increase in price during Valentine's Day? What's that they say? Love is blind? Some may argue it's not a pointless celebration purely due to the religious celebrations, it honestly depends on how you look at it. I'm all for celebrating a religious figure and making a festival out of it.

Although I'm against the whole Valentine's Day thing, I think it is quite cute to celebrate a relationship on this day, once a year, every year. It's a given you'll be sucked into the lovey dovey notion that is Valentine's Day.

On Saint Valentine's Day, I woke up and got ready, getting myself pretty and what not. I was greeted with a bouquet of roses and a box of Lindt 'Strawberries and Cream' chocolates, safe to say I was in the romantic spirit.

Stereotypical roses and chocolate
Before going out on a date, what better way to celebrate the holiday than watching Fifty Shades of Grey, I shan't be going into details, if you're interested in my thoughts on the film, check out the post for it.

After watching the Fifty Shades of Grey film, I was a mix of emotions, but was ready to go out. A restaurant reservation was made, but unfortunately, after a 45 minute drive and at least 20 minutes of looking for a parking spot in the hustle and bustle of the city, on a busy day such as this, we opted for a different restaurant on the lovely Lygon St, famous for it's culture and food. The restaurant was called 'Piccolo Mondo', the reception was a little slow, but it was expected as the place was pretty busy. I devoured half a dozen oysters, chips and half a chicken parmigiana, alongside a glass of champagne and a piece of cheesecake.

Overall, February was full on. From Valentine's Day, to a haul of goodies, to purchasing brand, spanking new items, to smashing through How To Get Away With Murder, Arrow and The Flash.

The first month is always the hardest to get through, you want to tackle all your New Years Resolutions at once and your head is spinning because it's actually a new year. I don't know about you, but January went so quickly for me, I blinked and the month was over. I felt like I hadn't achieved anything at all! A lot of my New Years Resolutions went untouched, mere memories to me.

Onto the pressing issue at hand, how did I actually get through January? Despite the fact that I do not have a repetitive routine at the moment, I plan to motivate myself to at least tick off a majority of my New Years Resolutions, one at a time. One of my secret resolutions was to motivate myself by getting ready every single day. This sounds silly but I feel a lot more motivated in tackling the day and its tasks when I plan my outfit the night before and begin the day by waking up, washing my face, moisturising and then getting changed into the chosen outfit based on the weather of the day. Then of course, making a coffee, 1/4 cup of milk, steamed and frothed, 1 sugar, 1 short black, and voila there's a latte for you, if you're bothered making it yourself and releasing your inner barista. Although this is a regular daily routine, due to the fact that my sleeping pattern is quite muddled at the moment, I wake up at different times every morning, and the resolution here is to fix the sleep pattern, or non-existent one and then I'll be content. Main object here is to go to bed earlier, wake up earlier, and continuously do this and train my body. Hopefully when I update you guys on this, I'll have accomplished this, so keep your fingers crossed for me.

One of the other ways I got through the quickest month ever, is buy purchasing stationary from Kikki K. If you're like me and have a love for stationary, then you'd know that there's nothing better that stationary shopping and owning new stationary. Whenever I buy stationary I feel like a new person and feel so organised.

I am in love with my Kikki K diary, it's got everything I need and I brought matching pens for the diary and plan on buying the entire range because I know I'll be owning everything for a very long time. I try to take time out of my day to write in the diary and organise myself, sometimes I don't really have the time and just fix everything when I do. But other than that, not only do I feel organised but the stationary is so pretty! If you're looking for alternatives to Kikki K, check out Typo, NoteMaker, OfficeWorks, Kate Spade and Kaisercraft.

Now to the beauty buys of January, a girl can't resist buying makeup, it's a necessity.

Thanks to Priceline I received a $5 voucher, it's not much but it really tempted to purchase something. Strolling through the beauty aisle, I laid my eyes upon this cheap smoky eyeshadow palette. I'd never heard of the brand, but it was $3, I couldn't resist. The 'Beauty Essentials' eye shadow palette consists of 10 smoky shades. I was skeptical of how cheap it was but when I finally tried it, the results were shocking. The pigmentation wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and the coverage lasted a lot longer than expected. I enjoyed trying smoky eyed looks and found it enjoyable to use the palette. The only downfall is that I hate eyeshadow applicators, I mean the applicators do the job but I'm more of a fan of brushes as the brush makes it easier to apply and the coverage is better. But that's just a small flaw in my eyes, the palette is $3, and despite the price tag, the palette quality is at a good standard. There is also a natural eye palette but I was unable to find it, but when I do, I'm so buying it.

I didn't just buy the eyeshadow palette, but brought something I'd be dying to have for a while now. The Australis 'AC ON TOUR' Contouring and Highlighting Kit has been causing a rave and I wanted to know what the fuss is about. For me, I'm new to properly contouring using highlighters and bronzers, as I have a compact that can allow you to slightly contour. The thing that I love about the kit is the fact that there are instructions included, so you're not going in blind or have to look up how to contour or watch tutorial videos, for me I don't have time so written instructions are ideal. For me, as I'm not a professional makeup artist and I'm just learning as I go along, I found it really difficult to contour and highlight but I can't wait to get this down pat.

And that my friends, or readers, is how I got through January. I hope 2015 doesn't go as fast as the first month of the year did because I do want to blink without fast-tracking to a new month and live a little you know.
