February, Where Did You Go?

by - Monday, March 02, 2015

February is that month where you blink and sneeze and suddenly March is there. I don't know how I caught my breath in February it just went extremely quickly. What I hate about month's that go fast is the fact that I regret my actions, whereby I think I could've done more, I can do more, I hate not being productive, and in the end it just simply feels like a waste of a month. I achieved many things that were on my 'to-do list', both mentally remembered and physically written down, but many were overlooked.

At the moment, I still don't have a repetitive routine at the moment, it's merely because I'm on holidays, the schedule is ever-changing rather than fixed, this is the reason why I can't wait to start university again. I'm in my second year of university (still sounds weird to me, life is moving fast, I'm getting older, it's just... weird) and boy have I been itching to get back. I love the atmosphere, and I miss it, I miss learning and seeing people, friends, new faces and those who educate me. Although a routine is not in order, I have made a timetable, written many important dates in my diary and am organising my life, albeit slowly, but it is getting done.

One thing that I did do in the month of February was cut my hair. It was time to cut my long, mostly dead hair and go for a new look. Although sometimes I regret cutting it, I think opting for the healthier option that may be short, is more important than trying to fix already dead hair. It's just those little changes that'll make your day, week, month and even year better than ever.

FEBUARY HAUL

As some of you know, I'm borderline, or even completely obsessed with Kikki K and their stationary, particularly the Live Bright range. I previously purchased a leather diary, leather pencil case, a set of pens and the infamous tomato pen, but couldn't stop there. I decided to buy a leather notebook, leather wallet/clutch, a hardcover notebook and of course, more pens, these are ballpoint rather than ink gel so there is a difference. The Live Bright range is limited edition, Kikki K ranges change every season so I was lucky to have purchased most of the range, as most stores were selling out. The moral to the story is that, these purchases are well worth it, and will really motivate me to study and actually write everything down rather than be attached to a form of technology, I'm taking a step back in time and actually writing... crazy innit?

Another step in getting my life together was actually purchasing a brand new bag. I have a lot of bags, but they're quite petite in size, I needed a bag that was big enough to fit a laptop, textbooks, binder, a notebook and other bits and bobs... And I found that bag. Let me tell you, it is quite huge, like I now know how Hermione feels with that beaded bag that has an undetectable extension charm.

The infamous bag that'll fit everything
Although most of my purchases are necessary, some are purely for pleasure, they are more wants than needs, however a majority of the time I trick myself into believing they are needs, but who hasn't done this? Shoes and clothes are definitely my weakness, I need it all, I tell myself every time I make a purchase. In the end, the guilt of the purchase is outweighed by the amount of times I wear the item(s), so it's justifiable.

VALENTINE'S DAY

I completely forgot to post a Valentine's Day post, that's how fast this month went. I also hesitated in writing the post alone as I thought well, readers may not be interested. I instagrammed photos and thought it was enough but hey why not give you the dirty details.

Valentine's Day, this a day made for couples to celebrate their love and blah blah blah, right? Wrong, it's more of a normal day, a social culture or structure made for human beings such as ourselves to spend incredible amounts of money on flowers, chocolates and restaurant food. Is it just me or does everything increase in price during Valentine's Day? What's that they say? Love is blind? Some may argue it's not a pointless celebration purely due to the religious celebrations, it honestly depends on how you look at it. I'm all for celebrating a religious figure and making a festival out of it.

Although I'm against the whole Valentine's Day thing, I think it is quite cute to celebrate a relationship on this day, once a year, every year. It's a given you'll be sucked into the lovey dovey notion that is Valentine's Day.

On Saint Valentine's Day, I woke up and got ready, getting myself pretty and what not. I was greeted with a bouquet of roses and a box of Lindt 'Strawberries and Cream' chocolates, safe to say I was in the romantic spirit.

Before going out on a date, what better way to celebrate the holiday than watching Fifty Shades of Grey, I shan't be going into details, if you're interested in my thoughts on the film, check out the post for it.

After watching the Fifty Shades of Grey film, I was a mix of emotions, but was ready to go out. A restaurant reservation was made, but unfortunately, after a 45 minute drive and at least 20 minutes of looking for a parking spot in the hustle and bustle of the city, on a busy day such as this, we opted for a different restaurant on the lovely Lygon St, famous for it's culture and food. The restaurant was called 'Piccolo Mondo', the reception was a little slow, but it was expected as the place was pretty busy. I devoured half a dozen oysters, chips and half a chicken parmigiana, alongside a glass of champagne and a piece of cheesecake.

Overall, February was full on. From Valentine's Day, to a haul of goodies, to purchasing brand, spanking new items, to smashing through How To Get Away With Murder, Arrow and The Flash.
